Command and conquer 4 death of a franchise

Well as some of you may know EA Games is releasing its next installment of the command and conquer saga. As far back as I can remember I've played this wonderful RTS (real time strategy). EA Games has released the official trailer for the game; it takes place roughly 8 years after command and conquer 3, and a few years after kanes Wrath. The trailer isn't the start point for the story line, so the game takes place 16 years after the trailer. Should be a very interesting intro to the game. After all they have to explain all the work that Kanes has done with GDI (global defense initiative)

I'm sorry to see the Classic base building template gone. They have removed the necessity to build a base, I haven't gotten all the details yet but I hope they are well armored. It is however a nice change to give everyone the ability as opposed to a select faction *cough*rising sun*cough*. I haven't done the beta but I would think the game play pace is Very fast. With nothing to tie you down to a specific location the games are going to end up being very short. This may be the direction that EA wanted to take the game but I miss the 5hr rounds where you where both at a stale mate.

The new units look amazing. However this reminds me, EA has done a very dirty move. Kotaku reports EA games, is going to fire the entire development team, after the game is released. For me that means that there will be even less support then EA usually gives. This could just kill the games longevity. I hope there are no kinks in the game. With Kanes Wrath there where countless bugs, and they just ignored them focusing on the next game.

Honestly thought it may be the best that EA stops making C&C games. They always have major issues on release, and there patches aren't always what you expect from a company. That all being said I'm looking forward to Star Craft II should be really good and I admire the fact that they keep postponing the game, I would rather a game be postponed and work flawlessly then have a game that drives me mental every time I try to play it.
